Apple's HomeView is a $299 smart display for your home. Here's everything Apple launched

Apple launched HomeView at $299, plus a new HomePod mini and Apple TV 4K. Prices, release dates, what Siri AI needs, and why HomeView isn't sold in the EU.

Apple's "Welcome Home" launch landed on 13 October, and the reporting was right: a smart home hub, a new HomePod mini, and a new Apple TV 4K. The hub is called HomeView, and it's Apple's first device built to sit in the kitchen or on a wall and run the home.

Everything below is from Apple's own announcements for HomeView, HomePod mini and Apple TV 4K.

Apple also announced an Apple Home Collection of accessories, arriving from December, with some in early 2027.

The Siri AI small print

This launch is built around Siri AI, so it's worth reading the conditions.

That last point is the one to watch. A $299 device whose best features may later need a subscription is a different purchase from one that doesn't.

Why no EU

Siri AI isn't available in the EU, which Apple blames on the bloc's Digital Markets Act. HomeView is built around Siri AI, so Apple isn't selling it there at all: the DMA dispute is now keeping a whole Apple product out of Europe.

Should you buy one

Wait for reviews if you're tempted by HomeView. It's a first-generation device, Siri AI is still in beta, and the future fee is unpriced. It doesn't arrive until 13 November, so there's time.

The HomePod mini is the easy one. At $149, out on 30 October, it's an upgrade to a speaker many people already like, and it works without Siri AI.

The Apple TV 4K is for owners of older models. If you're on the second generation or later, Apple says you'll get Siri AI on your existing box too.

These arrive in a busy run for Apple, after the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Duo in September.
