GTA 6 finally has a collector's edition — it costs $399.99 and doesn't include the game
Rockstar's Goodtime State Vice City Collection is a $399.99 box of Leonida merch that ships 19 November. The game is sold separately. What's in it.

For months the question around GTA 6's editions was whether Rockstar would ever do a collector's edition. On 24 September it answered — with a $399.99 box that doesn't contain the game.
What's confirmed
The theme is Macca the Gator, a fictional TV show from inside Leonida. The box includes:
- A Macca the Gator figure with a twist-open base for stashing things — a Rockstar collector's tradition
- Sunglasses, a fanny pack, a snapback, and other apparel
- A pin set
- The first souvenir map of Leonida
The listing leaked a few hours before the announcement when the product appeared on wishlists on the Rockstar Store. Rockstar also says more items from its GTA VI Collection — apparel and collectibles — are coming to the store before launch.
The price, in context
To actually play the game with this, the minimum spend is $479.98 — the box plus the $79.99 Standard Edition — or $499.98 with the Ultimate Edition. Reports also note the box isn't eligible for free shipping.
A game-less collector's box isn't new for Rockstar. Red Dead Redemption 2 had one too, at around $100. This one is four times that, which makes it the most expensive GTA collector's item yet.
What people are unhappy about
Fans had hoped a collector's edition would include the game on a disc, especially since boxed copies of GTA 6 contain only a download code. This box doesn't fix that. It's a merchandise collection sold on launch day, not a special edition of the game — and that's the gap between what the name "collector's edition" suggests and what's actually on offer.
Should you buy it?
If you collect Rockstar merchandise and the Macca the Gator theme appeals, it's the official limited item for the launch, and limited runs of GTA merch have historically resold well. Order early if you want one; it's sold while stocks last.
