The GTA 6 PC question, answered honestly
No PC version is announced. What that means, what Rockstar's history suggests, and why every PC date circulating is invented.
Stated by the maker, publisher, or platform holder.
There is no announced PC version of Grand Theft Auto VI.
That's the entire confirmed content of this topic, and it needs saying plainly because the volume of material claiming otherwise is enormous and some of it is actively trying to take money off people.
The official position is silence
Rockstar has named PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S for a 19 November release. The official game page, the pre-order announcement and the platform holders' own listings all name those two and stop. Sony's store page also marks it as enhanced for PS5 Pro.
No PC. Also no PS4, no Xbox One, no Switch 2. And — this matters — Rockstar hasn't said a PC version won't happen either. The studio's public position isn't denial. It's nothing at all.
What history suggests
Every mainline Grand Theft Auto has eventually reached PC. Consistently, and consistently late.
GTA V hit consoles in September 2013 and PC in April 2015. About nineteen months. Red Dead Redemption 2 launched October 2018 and reached PC in November 2019, just over a year later.
The commercial logic hasn't changed in a decade: launch where the simultaneous install base is largest and the hardware target is tightest, then port. Former Rockstar developers have said publicly that PC will likely take a while and that PS5 takes priority because that's where the sales are.
So the reasonable expectation is that it happens, and that it isn't soon.
But an expectation built on precedent is a prediction. It isn't information, and the distinction matters more here than almost anywhere else, because of what's being sold on the back of it.
The scam problem
This is the practical reason to be firm rather than diplomatic about it.
Because a PC version is widely expected, and because millions of people want one badly, a market has grown for things that don't exist:
- Grey-market "PC pre-orders" for a product with no PC SKU. There's nothing to deliver
- Fake download pages offering a build, which install malware or harvest logins
- "Beta" or "early access" offers, sometimes wanting a small payment or a survey. There is no beta
- System requirement lists, which cannot exist, because Rockstar hasn't published any
One rule handles all of it. Rockstar announces its own platforms, on its own newswire, in writing. If you didn't read it there or on a first-party console storefront, it didn't happen.
What would count as real news
Three things, none of which has occurred:
- A Rockstar newswire post naming PC
- A Steam or Epic product page under Rockstar's publisher account
- Take-Two listing a PC SKU in its product pipeline
That third one is underrated. Take-Two's filings break products down by platform, and a PC version material enough to move revenue would appear there. It currently doesn't.
If PC is your only platform
Plan for a wait measured in a year or more, and be sceptical of anything telling you otherwise — particularly if it wants card details.
And look, there's a version of this that's completely reasonable to be annoyed about. PC players have now watched two full cycles of "wait fifteen months, then buy it." That's a real grievance.
But that grievance is exactly what the scams are built on. The people running them are counting on it being strong enough to override caution for thirty seconds, which is all they need.
November changes nothing here. If it changes, it'll change because Rockstar published something, and this page will say so the day it does.
