Meta Connect 2026: $1,300 VR Glasses, new Ray-Bans, and the Display goes international

Meta's 100-gram VR Glasses cost $1,300 and ship spring 2027. Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3 is $449 and out now. Everything confirmed at Connect 2026, with dates.

Stated by the maker, publisher, or platform holder.

Meta used Connect on 23 September to put a new, premium tier above its Quest headsets. It calls the product VR Glasses: a 100-gram visor with a tethered compute puck, a $1,300 price, and a spring 2027 ship date.

Everything below is from Meta's own announcements.

Meta VR Glasses

The weight is the point. Taking the chip and battery off your head is how Meta gets a headset down to glasses territory, and the trade-off is a cable to a box in your pocket. Apple's Vision Pro kept the computer on your head, and paid for it in weight.

Meta says Quest 3 apps will run on it at higher resolution using foveated rendering, and around 75 games will support hand gestures at launch. It's also the first VR product with IMAX Enhanced certification, and USB-C DisplayPort input lets you use it as a screen for a phone, laptop, or handheld.

The glasses you can buy now, or soon

The camera-free Audio model is the interesting one. Privacy complaints have followed camera glasses since the first Ray-Ban Stories, and a version without one removes the main objection in offices, schools, and anywhere else cameras are unwelcome.

Where this leaves VR pricing

$1,300 sits just above Valve's Steam Frame at $1,059. The two are aimed at different people: Steam Frame is a PC gaming headset, while Meta is selling lightness, media, and passthrough, and asking buyers to wait six months or more for it.

Meta also teased Muse Charm, a keychain-sized device for its Muse AI assistant, with details promised later this year. And an FDA-cleared hearing-enhancement feature arrives in the US this autumn for a $149 one-time fee.

Our read

Meta has shown where it thinks headsets are going, and priced and dated it for 2027. What you can buy this autumn is glasses, not headsets. For most people, the Ray-Ban Gen 3 at $449 is the real Connect launch.
