Nothing has released a Pro version of its over-ear headphones, and it's priced to sit directly against the big three. The Headphone (1) Pro costs $399 and goes on sale today, 29 September.
What's confirmed
There are also spatial audio presets with names like "Live House" and "Concert Hall," with optional head tracking.
Where it sits
At $399, the Headphone (1) Pro is pitched squarely at the premium noise-cancelling headphones from Sony, Bose, and Apple, as Bloomberg framed its launch. Nothing's pitch is design and control: metal and glass instead of plastic, and detailed tuning options. 9to5Google's early take is that the comfort improvements are meaningful, and that the tuning options take time to get the most out of.
What isn't settled yet is how it sounds against those rivals in full reviews, and how the 46dB noise cancelling compares in practice. Spec-sheet decibel figures aren't measured the same way across brands, so treat that number as Nothing's claim until independent tests land.
Our read
The flat-EQ switch and the lossless USB-C input are the details that suggest Nothing is aiming at people who care about sound, not just looks. Whether that holds up is a question for full reviews. For more on this autumn's audio launches, see our coverage of AirPods 5 and Apple Watch Series 12.
