When will GTA 6 reviews come out? What's been reported, and what Rockstar did last time

Reports say GTA 6 review copies go out before the end of October, with reviews before 19 November. Rockstar hasn't confirmed. What's known, and the history.

Unverified. Treat as speculation until an official source says otherwise.

A month from launch, the next big date for Grand Theft Auto VI is the one Rockstar hasn't announced: when the reviews go live. Two reports say that will happen before the game is out on 19 November, and that critics will get their copies earlier than usual.

Neither has been confirmed. Here's what's claimed, and what Rockstar has done before.

What's been reported

The deleted article is the reason this stays a rumour. A report that its own outlet withdrew isn't something to rely on, even when another source points the same way.

What Rockstar did last time

Rockstar's last two big games both let reviews out shortly before launch, not on launch day.

So reviews arriving before 19 November would fit the pattern. What would be new is the reported timing of the copies. Three weeks is a long time for a game this size, and it would point to a review date well before launch week.

Why it matters if you've pre-ordered

Reviews are the first real answer to the questions Rockstar's marketing hasn't settled: how it plays over dozens of hours, how much of the map you can actually go inside, and how well it runs on base PS5 and Xbox Series S. Rockstar's trailers, including the launch trailer, have shown the world, not much of the game.

You'll have time to read them. If the reports are right, reviews land before the game unlocks, so if you're still choosing an edition, you can wait for the verdict.

Expect spoilers to spread. Once copies are out, footage and story details tend to leak. If you want to go in fresh, be careful online from late October.

We'll cover the review date as soon as Rockstar or the outlets confirm it, and the verdict the day the embargo lifts.
