GTA 6's launch trailer is out, with an original song from Justice, Tame Impala and SZA
Rockstar released GTA 6's launch trailer on 15 October, debuting Justice's song 'Flower in a Hurricane'. What it shows, what it doesn't, and what's confirmed.
Stated by the maker, publisher, or platform holder.
Five weeks before release, Rockstar has put out the last big piece of the marketing campaign: the Grand Theft Auto VI launch trailer, released on 15 October on its official trailer page and YouTube.
It's short, it's mostly mood, and the biggest news in it is the music.
What's confirmed
What it shows
As Wccftech noted, it shows the game's feel rather than any new gameplay systems. If you were hoping for a proper look at missions, driving or the map, this isn't it.
Why the music matters
Earlier GTA trailers were built around licensed songs; NME calls this the first original song to score one. Leading the launch trailer with an original track, from a band now named as the game's score composers, says Rockstar sees the music as one of the game's headline features.
It fits everything shown so far: six radio stations hosted by artists including Bad Bunny, Lana Del Rey and Morgan Wallen, and GTA VI: The Album, 34 original tracks out on launch day. NME reports that "Flower in a Hurricane" will be on the album.
Still changing, five weeks out
Late changes are normal for a game this size, and nothing here points to another delay. Rockstar repeated the 19 November date again with this trailer.
