Apple's smart home hub, a new HomePod mini and Apple TV are reportedly coming 13 October
Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reports Apple will launch a smart home hub, a faster HomePod mini and a new Apple TV on 13 October. Apple hasn't confirmed.
Carried by established outlets, not officially confirmed.
Apple's long-rumoured smart home hub may finally be about two weeks away. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reported on 30 September that Apple plans to introduce three home products on Tuesday 13 October.
Apple hasn't announced anything. This carries a Reported stamp: Gurman has a strong record on Apple, but until Apple confirms, the date and details are his reporting, not Apple's.
What's reported
Why now
The link between all three is Siri. Apple's AI-powered Siri arrived with iOS 27 last month, which we covered in what's new in iOS 27. MacRumors notes that all three are built around Siri's AI features, which helps explain why a hub first expected in 2024 is only arriving now.
Gurman also mentions products further out: an updated full-size HomePod, a home security camera, and a higher-end hub with a 9-inch display on a robotic arm that swivels 360 degrees. None of those are expected on 13 October.
What to watch for
If Apple follows its usual pattern for smaller launches, these could arrive as press releases rather than a live event, though Gurman's report doesn't say how Apple will announce them. We'll post the confirmed details, prices, and release dates when Apple announces them. For Apple's September launches, see our iPhone 18 Pro event breakdown.
