Everything worth playing before GTA 6 eats the calendar

Six weeks, six big releases, all landing around 19 November. The autumn 2026 game calendar, with the dates that are actually confirmed.

Stated by the maker, publisher, or platform holder.

Here's a thing worth noticing about the autumn release calendar: almost every major game is landing around 19 November, not on it. Publishers have looked at the Grand Theft Auto VI date and cleared a blast radius, packing September and October instead. The upside for players is that the two months before GTA 6 are unusually stacked.

This is the run of confirmed dates, in order. Everything here has an official date as of now — where a date is still soft, it's flagged.

September

Also in September: Onimusha: Way of the Sword, NBA 2K27, EA Sports FC 27, and Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave on Switch 2. A dense month before October gets denser.

October

November, and the wall

After Phantom Blade Zero, the calendar goes quiet on purpose. November is being left largely clear, because Grand Theft Auto VI lands on 19 November and most publishers have no interest in competing with it for attention or wallets. A few indies will hold their dates; almost nothing large will.

December is the same story — anything releasing then is competing with GTA 6's holiday sales tail.

The practical version

If you want to actually play these rather than bounce off a launch-day patch, the sensible order is Wolverine and Control in late September, then Gears and Modern Warfare through October, leaving late October and early November to clear your backlog before GTA 6 takes over your life on the 19th.

One caveat worth keeping: dates this far out can still move. Everything above is confirmed as it stands, but a delay between now and launch wouldn't be unusual for any of them. We'll note it here if any of these shift.
