GTA 6's radio stations are here, and Bad Bunny, Lana Del Rey and Slayer are hosting
Rockstar has revealed six GTA 6 radio stations you can preview now. Who's hosting each one, what they play, and what's still to come.
Stated by the maker, publisher, or platform holder.
Six weeks before launch, Rockstar has shown off the part of Grand Theft Auto VI that most players will spend the most time with: the radio. On 8 October it put six stations on the game's official music page, each with a preview you can play now, along with new screenshots on the game's site.
Rockstar says GTA 6 has "the biggest and widest-ranging selection of in-game radio and podcasts yet," with stations "dedicated to everything from Classic Rock to Talk Radio." The station names and descriptions below are Rockstar's. The real people behind the hosts' on-air names come from reporting by Rolling Stone and Pitchfork, so those carry a Reported stamp.
The six stations
Who's really behind the mic
Several on-air names point the same way: MW for Morgan Wallen, Burna for Burna Boy, Palmsy for Palms Trax, Kerry and Tom for Slayer's pair, and Robyn, Trick and Trina as themselves.
What it tells you about the game
The station list is a map of Leonida. Airboat-ready country, Southern rap, modern Latin, and Flash FM, the pop station from 2002's Vice City, back by name. GTA radio has always been world-building as much as music, and these six read like the regions of a modern Florida.
It's an unusually star-heavy lineup for a game. Bad Bunny, Lana Del Rey and Morgan Wallen aren't just licensing songs here. They're hosting.
It's not the full list. Rockstar's own page mentions classic rock and talk radio, and neither is among these six. Consequence reports that the game will also have podcasts for Jason and Lucia. More stations may be revealed before 19 November.
Where it fits
This is separate from GTA VI: The Album, the 34-track record of original songs Rockstar announced in September. The album is a release you can buy; the stations are the in-game radio, and the album isn't the full soundtrack.
